Feed Lake Highlands offers help to families in the Lake Highlands community who are striving to attain economic self-sufficiency by ministering to their physical, educational, and spiritual needs.
Together We Can End Hunger in Lake Highlands
Feed Lake Highlands (FLH) is a faith-based non-profit feeding the body, mind, and spirit of Lake Highlands residents who live on fixed, low incomes, and absent. Our programs address physical, educational, and spiritual needs. The work of FLH is only possible with the strong support and partnership of the North Texas Food Bank, Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, Sharing Life Community Outreach, Lake Highlands Women’s League, Dallas Elks Lodge #71 and other Lake Highlands neighbors.
We believe that the hunger cycle affects more than empty stomachs. Our programs go beyond addressing just physical hunger. We take a wholistic approach in all our programs. Through participation in our Food Distribution, Summer Camp Experiences and After School Club programs we develop long-term relationships with LH area families, elderly individuals living in public housing and residents of the 12 multi-housing communities situated along the Whitehurst corridor.
Why Summer Camps?
We believe summer camps provide young people with a safe, accepting, empowering space where they experience unconditional love and learn to become the person they were created to be.
We fully believe a week at camp can transform a life.
Our Food Distribution, Homework Club and Summer Experiences programs are designed to address more than a short-term food need. We foster deep relationships with our program members by assisting them with food, clothes, and life skills classes.
